OpenGridMount uses a standardized mounting grid for tool holders, bins, dividers, adapters, and accessories. Components can be positioned throughout a toolbox drawer and rearranged whenever your layout changes.

As a mechanic working in a high-volume shop, I need my tools to be quick to access, easy to return, and organize wtihout adding unnecessary complexity. A good toolbox layout should make the work faster, not force me to think about where something belongs everyt ime I reach for it.
The problem I kept running into was that most toolbox organizers lock you into a specific size, shape, or brand. A holder would be slightly too large or too small, waste valuable drawer space, or fail to line up cleanly with products from other systems. Even when a system worked well, expanding or changing the lauout could become expensive, and the exact component I needed was not always available.
3D printing offered a better approach. Instead of accepting whatever sizes and configurations were available, I could design each component around the tools I actually use. I began recreating and modifying types of organizers I found most useful, Adapting ideas commonly found in more expensive commercial systems into parts that were easier to print, customize, replace, and combine.
That design project eventually became OpenGridMount: An open, modular toolbox organization system built around speed, simplicity, and flexibility. Its components share a consistent mounting grid, but the individual holders can be sized and arranged around the user's tools rather than forcing the tools to fit a predetermined organizer.
OpenGridMount is not intended to reinvent every type of tool holder. Many f its components are practical, 3D printable interpretations of proven organizer designs, modified to work together as part of one accessible system. The goal is to make toolbox organization less restrictive, so a broken cart can be reprinted, a holder can be adjusted, and an entire layout can evolve as the tools and the work change.
